London Olympics 2012: 50 days to go

Preparations for the 2012 London Olympic Games are gathering pace as the countdown reaches another milestone with 50 days to go until the opening ceremony.
It has been revealed that the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) will release 43,000 contingency tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies on Friday as well as tickets for six sporting events.
Tickets for the ceremonies will start at £995 each.
Meanwhile to mark the 50 day countdown until the Games, London 2012 has published a list of 50 ways for people in the UK and around the world to join in with the Games.
The new list includes activities to organise with friends and family, London 2012 Festival events to attend and ways to get involved without leaving the comfort of your home.
